Desiree Levin

Executive Director

Founder and strategic visionary.Provides strategic leadership and drives the organization’s mission with a focus on community upliftment, training, and innovation. Desiree is a world champion in Disabled Lawn Bowls, having represented South Africa at the Commonwealth Games and World Championships, proudly bringing home top-three medals. She currently holds first place nationally in Lawn Bowls South Africa. Passionate about people, she actively connects with individuals from all walks of life to understand their challenges and identify where a helping hand can be offered.

Delicia Dippenaar

Non-Executive Director

Brings valuable perspective on program impact and organizational accountability. With a background in education and social initiatives, she advises on best practices for sustainable development. Delicia has worked across both commercial and public sectors, turning around underperforming departments in Security Operation Centers and developing training programs that foster resilience and growth. She has actively supported women from abused backgrounds and is a committed activist against sexual abuse of all genders, as well as a strong advocate for the protection of children. Driven by a desire to uplift those dealt a difficult hand, Delicia believes in restoring dignity, sparking transformation, and helping individuals rediscover purpose—so they can one day contribute back to society with acts of kindness and strength.

Shapes the direction of community development by guiding how we interact, engage, and deliver training that truly empowers. With a background in education and social initiatives, she advises on best practices for sustainable development.Gloria brings deep insight into grassroots needs, helping SA Sec Society design initiatives that matter and make a lasting impact.

Oversees financial planning and compliance, ensuring transparency and responsible stewardship of donor funds. Brings years of nonprofit finance experience to support SA Sec Society’s mission sustainably.

Milo

Cultivator and Grounds Caretaker

Known for his 'magic hands,' Milo is the heart behind SA Sec Society’s green initiatives. He carefully cultivates fruit-bearing trees—especially citrus and avocados—that are later planted in under-resourced communities to offer sustainable nourishment. After years of hands-on experimentation, Milo identified these varieties as the most resilient and low-maintenance once mature. His quiet dedication and green thumb help lay literal roots of support where they’re needed most.

Magog

Office Manager

The steady hand behind the scenes, Magog ensures that the daily operations of SA Sec Society run smoothly and efficiently. With a strong sense of order and a deep commitment to the team, she coordinates schedules, manages communication, and supports both staff and community initiatives. Magog’s calm presence, reliability, and organizational talent make her the cornerstone of the office—keeping everything (and everyone) on track.

The National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI) is a registered non-profit organisation that is committed to drowning prevention and focused on saving lives, changing lives and creating futures for those threatened by drowning in South Africa. We are unique in South Africa as the only non-profit organisation focusing exclusively on safeguarding lives and livelihoods in South African waters through education, prevention, and rescue operations. We envision a nation where drowning incidents are minimised, ensuring the safety of all. The NSRI strives to innovate, constantly evolve, and extend our water safety initiatives through empowerment and visibility. Our volunteers are on call 24/7 and are reliant on donations and sponsorships.
