Agreement

These Terms govern your use of the website and services provided by SA Sec Society ("we", "us"). By accessing or using the site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

Eligibility & Accounts

You must be legally capable of entering into binding agreements. You are responsible for safeguarding your account credentials and for all activity under your account.

Acceptable Use

• No unlawful, infringing, harmful, or abusive conduct.
• No attempts to probe, scan, or test the site’s security, nor to disrupt or overload the service.
• No uploading of malicious code or user-generated HTML that could execute scripts.

Donations

• Donations are voluntary. Unless a specific campaign states otherwise, donations are generally non-refundable.
• Payment processing is handled by our payment provider; we do not store card numbers or CVV.
• On successful payment, you’ll receive a receipt. For non-anonymous donors, a Section 18A certificate may be issued where legally eligible and sufficient information is provided.
• Anonymous donations: no Section 18A certificate can be issued.
• Certificates may be delivered electronically to your registered email address.

Tax & Compliance

Eligibility for tax deductions depends on applicable laws and accurate donor details. You are responsible for consulting your tax adviser. We may be required to retain certain records for statutory periods and to share information with SARS or other authorities when legally obliged.

Content & Intellectual Property

Unless otherwise indicated, all content on this site is owned by SA Sec Society and protected by law. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute content without prior written permission, except for fair use or where a specific licence is stated. Trademarks, logos, and third-party marks are the property of their respective owners.

User Submissions

If you submit content (e.g., comments, testimonials), you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use and display that content on the site and our channels, subject to our Privacy Policy and applicable law.

Third-Party Services

We may integrate with third-party services (e.g., payment providers, analytics). Your use of those services is subject to their terms and privacy policies.

Disclaimers

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by South African law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or loss of profits, data, or goodwill arising from your use of the site or services.

Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold SA Sec Society harmless from claims arising out of your breach of these Terms or misuse of the site.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the site for any violation of these Terms or for security/operational reasons.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes take effect upon posting with an updated “Last updated” date.

Governing Law & Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. You consent to the exclusive jurisdiction of the South African courts for any disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or the services.
